The dream for Knew Hope Ranch is to be a place where at risk horses and at risk kids come together and teach both horse and child how to love and trust again.
Over the years my husband and I worked as volunteers in different hippotherapy facilities. We personally witnessed miracles happen between child and horse. There is something magical about horses. They seem to sense the needs within a person and provide unconditional love and acceptance. The children respond by opening up in ways no one thought possible.
Robert and I were raised in less than stellar environments. We know first hand that as children we don't realize life offers choices outside our home life. Because of this many children go on to become adults perpetuating the same behavior they saw growing up. We agreed that if we had the opportunity to experience unconditional acceptance in a loving environment it could have turned our lives around at a much younger age.
My personal experience with horses was all the proof I needed that horses heal and change lives. Interacting with horses as an adult changed who I am and how I see life. We would love to share that blessing with others. ~Debi Blacklidge
